A comment was left for the reviewing administrator: NOTE: This totally proprietary directory of companies was created by De Beers, which historically had a monopoly as the supplier of rough diamonds and only sold to authorized purchasers, based on De Beers' unique judgement about which companies they would like to do business with; the current list is at https://gss.debeersgroup.com/customer-directory. This is intellectual property of De Beers.

A sightholder is a company on the De Beers Global Sightholder Sales's (DBGSS) list of authorized bulk purchasers of rough diamonds. De Beers Group made this list, the second largest miner of diamonds. DBGSS was previously known as DTC (Diamond Trading Company). In May 2006, DTC released a list of the 93 sightholders on its website.
The DTC Sightholder list was further reduced to 79 companies worldwide in December 2007. The list of selected companies for the 2008-2011 contract period was published in April 2008.[1][failed verification]
In 2015, De Beers introduced the Accredited Buyers allowing companies that were not traditional Sightholders to access diamonds that were not allocated to existing Sightholders.[2][3]
